The Hays Communities Family Branch located in Buda, TX is seeking a Grounds Keeper to join our team. We are looking for applicants that are available to work up 25 hours per week.

PAY RATE: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour, depending on experience


Under the guidance of the Hays YMCA Program Director, the Groundskeeper is responsible for the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds of Camp Cypress.


  • Perform ground keeping duties
  • Mow and trim camp property
  • Apply pesticide and treat for fire ants, mosquitos, wasps, ticks, and others
  • Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth
  • Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger on trails, structures and roads
  • Trail maintenance
  • Coordinates service for power equipment with vendors   
  • Performs other related work as assigned.


  • Must be able to perform physical labor for prolonged periods of time in a wide range of climatic conditions
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 100 pounds
  • Knowledge of mechanical machines and tools.
  • Minimum of 21 years old
  • Reliable transportation to attend work and valid driver’s license
  • Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude
  • Interested in contributing to the mission of the YMCA


Current CPR/Basic First Aid, preferred
