The East Communities YMCA Branch in Austin, TX is seeking a Gymnastics Instructors to join our team for the Fall/Winter/Spring sessions. We are looking for applicants that have availability to work Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30pm-6:30pm.

PAY RATE: $9-$12 per hour, depending on experience

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Under the direction of the Youth & Family Director, the Gymnastics Instructor is responsible for teaching YMCA gymnastics curriculum to a class of small groups, ages 3-14 years of age. Our students are taught the basics of gymnastics, flexibility, form and skills through routine exercises using mats and appropriate apparatus. Instructors teach two classes per day with a 1:5 teacher student ratio. Set up and take down of equipment are required. Ability to communicate to children of various ages and parents in a professional manner is expected. Class age groups are as follows: 1-3 years (Parent Child), 4-5 years (Preschool), 6-12 years (Level I & II).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 16 years of age
  • Gymnastics or cheer tumbling background – instructor experience preferred
  • Possess a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills
  • Loves working with kids
  • Great teammate  
  • Interested in contributing to the mission of the YMCA
  • Able to work occasional weekends
