The Southwest Family Branch in Austin, TX is seeking a Gymnastics Instructors to join our team. We are looking for applicants that have availability to work Tuesdays and Fridays from 5:00pm-8:30pm.

Pay Rate: $9-$12 per hour, depending on experience

General Function:

Under the direction of the Childwatch Coordinator, the Gymnastics Instructor is responsible for assisting with the facilitation and instruction of gymnastics programs. This requires the set-up of heavy equipment, creating lesson plan review and implantation, instructing students of various ages, and updating the Gymnastics Coordinator and parents of student progress. The Instructor must provide a safe and non-threatening program for program participants. The Instructor will promote the YMCA character values, mission, and wellness philosophy to the program participants.


  • Minimum of 16 years of age
  • Gymnastics or cheer tumbling background – instructor experience preferred
  • Must possess a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills
  • Should be able to work with children
  • Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude
  • Interested in contributing to the mission of the YMCA
  • Must be able to work occasional weekends
