The Program Services YMCA Branch in Austin, TX is seeking Youth Development Leaders to join our team for Fall 2017 school semester in Austin ISD, Hays CISD, RRISD and Manor ISD. We are looking for applicants who are available Monday through Friday between 2:00-6:30pm.

Pay rate: The following are starting rates for each position (increase depending on experience and size of program):  

  • Counselors: Start at $10.00 per hour
  • Assistant Site Directors: Start at $10.75 per hour
  • Site Directors: Start at $11.75

Job Description:

Youth Development Leaders facilitate activities such as arts and crafts, organized games, science/math activities, and character development activities while helping with homework and reading. Responsibilities include supervision of children, implementation of daily and weekly activities, and communication with parents.

Afterschool programs will operate in 30+ elementary schools across Austin, Buda, Round Rock, Kyle, and Manor. Employment includes a free individual YMCA of Austin membership and paid training hours. Enjoy fun and active afternoons while making a difference in the lives of children!                               

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High School graduate
  • Must become certified in CPR & FA after hiring
  • Reliable transportation to attend work
  • Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude
